Fakenham was a long (225 mile) haul for the ‘Snakemobile’ with a top speed loaded (and towing a trailered Sportster) of around 55mph. We were however glad to be inside rather than riding in the absolutely torrential downpours we experienced on the drive up
Organiser Carl looked after us superbly and arranged for a hook up pitch 50 yards from the main ‘Prince of Wales’ stand – the entrance of which was the location for our trade stand Although this is billed as a 4 day event the rain prevented many from travelling on the Thursday so Road Captain Andy Bayfield’s organised ride out on the Friday was supported by only around 30 or so riders most of whom (I’m guessing) were Fenlander members
As the weather picked up
so did the numbers through the gate and the
Saturday coast road ride into Cromer seafront saw happy smiley faces
riding in beautiful sunshine only to be met by a cold sea mist on
arrival
Unfortunately the one above went rather horribly wrong as the somewhat pissed recipient of the large bucket of water was recovering from a broken back which subsequently went into spasm resulting in him being carted off in an ambulance for the night .. he recovered well enough however to drop by our stand at the SOFER rally to see the sequence in pix .. so all's well etc
The trade stand was very
busy Saturday night so I didn’t get to see any of the bands (although we
could more than heard them) and the party went on till around 5.30
am in the main grandstand . We peaked at 4.30 as we had to face the long
return journey – Thanks Andy for the shot of JD
